What can I say

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have been a final fantasy fan since ff7 arrived to the UK back on the ps1. This has led to purchasing pretty much every final fantasy game since & also led me down the kingdom hearts series as well. FF13-2 is a superb game & betters FF13 in all categories (although I personally loved FF13). The story arc is brilliant as well as the game mechanics, the graphics are superb & the initial glitches were swiftly fixed with a patch. If you enjoyed any final fantasy then I would highly recommend final fantasy 13-2.

Final Fantasy XIII-2

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is quite a good game, still a little like the first episode, but different too; open maps and time travel, alternate worlds, the fight system is still exactly the same, but with only 2 playables characters and a captured mob. I'd rate this game for 3 stars, not finished yet so my opinion could maybe change in future. The story is a bit complicated, but the gameplay is still good, and the fights make me nervous haha Cons: long loadings even if installed on HDD, some lags on Xbox 360 but nothing really bad Certainly one of the better looking game on this system, and one of the better j-rpg on xbox/ps3 Hi from France! :)

Definite improvement over its' prequel

XIII was somewhat linear for the first three quarters of the game, and while this didn't really impair the game, what did open up was lacking. There were also no towns of people to interact with, and few sidequests. Also, if whoever you were controlling in battle KO'ed, you lost the fight. All this is fixed in Final Fantasy XIII-2. There's plenty to keep going back to in different locations. Indeed you'll need to, but it does get a little annoying and repetitive at times. Now in battle if your character KOs, you'll take control of your other. Your third and final party member, however, will always be a creature of some form much like a pet, which you can level up through certain items and/or combining other creatures. You can't control these, however, so when your humans are KO'ed, it's a lost battle. Thankfully the retry option is still around, which is a great addition to the later games in the series. All in all the game is rather delightful, with those of us who like to collect things desperately hunting fragments (which can later reward you highly!) or collecting different monsters a la Pokemon. The only thing missing from XIII is the weapon forging - I do miss breaking down stuff for components and harvesting materials for synth.

Final Fantasy Xiii-2

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

this is my review on Final Fantasy XIII-2: Graphics - 8/10: the graphics and areas in this sequel are still top notch with alot of different scenery which makes every location special Gameplay - 6,5/10: still think that the auto battle system is kind of dull but it gives entry to the people not very good at turn based games. It also has 2 different difficultys (easy and normal). There's also a new pet monster system ala pokemon which is also entertaining but feels more like a gimmick. Story - 7/10: story is still good and whats become expected for a final fantasy game, but some characters are not really that interesting compared to the original cast, who only make guest apperances during the game. Sounds - 10/10: the soundtrack for the game is really good and there's alot of lyrics in most of the songs as well, so it's not just instrumental. For some pieces in the game the music really sets the mood right. Content - 8/10: there's alot of content to put your teeth into, even after you have defeated the game you can get different endings and monsters compared to your team mates. in total i give the game a solid 7

Good Game

I think the game isn't too bad. The start is strange and you have to play it a little time to understand what's going on, but then you see the complex storyline with the different Timelines etc. After this moment the game gives another feeling. Its a Final Fantasy like FF XIII but with a few new features and some "nerfed" things. So in the end, I liked to play the game and had fun to do that.
