What Blu-ray was designed for...

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

As Blu-ray still commands a premium price, many movies just do not justify the extra expense or, indeed, the superior video and audio that this format allows. Given a crisp 35mm film stock source, however, many classic movies can find new life on Blu-ray. Such is the case with "The Cruel Sea". The picture quality on this disk is superb and, although only mono, the sound is crystal clear, too. There are not many extras but the included interview with Sir Donald Sinden is a treat. Thoroughly good viewing and highly recommended.
