If your a fan of Last of the Summer Wine then this is a must watch series. Based around the same characters, it shows them before the 2nd World War. Brilliantly made and very funny.

Exactly what you would expect in Holmfirth 30 years prior to the first episodes of Last of the Summer Wine. Great twist the way Cleggy (Peter Sallis) plays his father in the 30s. The teenage Compo, Nora and Wally Batty are portrayed with great accuracy by their younger counterparts but the young Foggy Dewhurst is a spectacle to behold. Great storylines build the characters you've come to know and love. It should not be missed by anyone who is a fan of Summer Wine. I can't wait until the second series of First of the Summer Wine is released.
