Despite the American spelling in the title, this film is distinctly British. Based on Willie Russell's play "Stages and Hens" it is a compelling story of 2 groups of friends out on stag and hen nights who bump into each other in a nightclub. The future bride accidentally meets up with an ex-boyfriend and the film then cleverly shows the fallout from that meeting. Cultural, gender and stereotypical differences come to the fore in a brilliantly observed cinematic comment on modern relationships. It is well worth watching even though some may find it a little dated.
