Mafia 2 Directors cut

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Having only played the demo before the games release and not being overly impressed this was a gamble. What a fantastic purchase it turned out to be! The plot is engaging and you grow to like the characters and I was hooked on playing the story mode through to completion. It was perhaps a little short at approx 8 hours but there is so much more exploring to do and collecting all the little extras will take much longer. On top of this you have the additional content included for free which adds even more playtime and fills in a few missing parts. All in all money well spent and a game I would highly recommend.

Mafia 2: Directors Cut (Classics)

I love Mafia 2. It's one of my favourites! I like how the cars look and work, and the way you drive in this game is different to any other game I've played before. I like the big transformation in the game, such as, when you go to jail for 6 years, you come out, and everything has changed! It's totally different. This game is very unique, and I love the new Mafia in this game! I highly recommend it.

The core game is great, mostly because of its attention to detail and its scinematic storyline. Don't expect the same quality from the included DLC packs however. The story parts are mostly written, and the gameplay is less focused and more inclined towards free-roaming with missions on the side, and as they are score-based, there are no mid-mission checkpoints. If you have already played the standard edition of this game, skip this one. If not: GET IT!

A Misunderstood Title

It's hard to think of any reasons why this game is flawed. With a gripping story and brilliant gameplay, from start to finish you'll be sucked into another world. A must for fans of gangsters, noire, or a cinematic experience perfectly blended with gameplay.

An instant classic

Mafia 2 is the game that makes me wish that I had paid more attention in history class, and that I knew more about old cars. The main storyline of the game is interesting, but the missions are often a bit too easy, even on Hard. However, this shouldn't be a problem since the real experience of Mafia 2 is the city itself. Driving through Empire Bay and just enjoying the scenery while listening to the radio is what makes this game a great experience. The Directors Cut version also includes 3 DLC mission packs and a few Style packs, making in a steal at this price.

great price for game that includes all downloadable content. It is not the best sandbox game but still has solid gameplay and story.

Mafia 2: Director's Cut (Classics)

great value for money this game does a few things better than GTA4 in my opinion. the fighting, cover system, and driving all felt much more fluid. it even has some stealth to it. the main drawbacks are it is a very linear game. u cannot do drivebys or take a taxi instead of driving everywhere yourself either, and there are not many things you can do outside the story. definitely worth buying at such low prices.

Story- The storyline for Mafia II is a gritty drama and chronicles the rise of Vito Scaletta, the son of Sicilian immigrants. As the game progresses, Vito joins the Falcone crime family and becomes "a made man" along with his best friend Joe Barbaro. You experience the ups & downs of being a made man & just what it takes to survive in the family for another day. Gameplay- The gameplay is familiar if you have played games like Scarface, The Godfather & so on, so you will not be struggling to get the controls for the game on point. You get to customize your apparel & pick up some sweet rides.....well....for that time at least. Graphics- The graphics are sweet & detailed. There is nothing here on the scale of Mass Effect 2, but you will appreciate the details. Music- The music that plays on the radio was chosen very well & actually fits some of the moods of the story. I love oldies & I must say there are some classics here.(download the soundtrack-AMAZING) Verdict- I enjoyed this game very much as I am an organized crime buff & pretty much liked the story here (especially the ending). You will not be disappointed with this game & if you are just say "Musashi made me do it".

Awesome...just awesome

I don't understand why the sales were so poor - sure the first game was much more revolutionery when it came out but this one is simply perfect if you ask me. A lot of interesting characters, a lot of different missions, a lot of cars, great praphics, really cool city etc. This one is more like wathing the movie with you as the main character rather than playing the game. I can't compare it to GTA IV since these are really different games. Mafia II is more realistic and it campures the spirit of the era. I sometimes play less than 1 time a week but this game made me play almost daily. At this privce it's must buy for everyone.
