PES 2012 is a lot of fun. It's fun to play alone, and even more fun with friends like all PES games before.

PES 2012: Pro Evolution Soccer is a very good game at a fantastic price. As usual, Zavvi gives great delivery service.

Good game for Wii. Better than the previous PES.

This is the 5th incarnation of PES on the Wii. The first (2008) version revolutionized the series with its new playmaker control series. The 2009 edition built on this and ironed out the original faults such as the poor defending. However, since then the gameplay has remained largely unchanged, with each new version merely updating the teams and players (although you need to spend 10 minutes on the editor if you want the proper team names for premier league teams). Therefore, if you have any PES on Wil from 2009 onwards then you will know exactly what to expect from this game. Whilst the consensus of opinion is that FIFA has overtaken PES on other consoles, it is fair to say that when it comes to the Wii, PES still offers a much more realistic and tactical game of football than FIFA does. I have returned to the classic controller for the 2012 edition and it does help to make the game feel more like the classic PES that I used to love on the PS2. The fact that this game cost only £12.95 from Zavvi, meant that it was worth buying just to update the teams and players. However, apart from that don't expect anything else to be different from the previous versions.
