Torchwood is a story in three parts, and all of them have been excellent. From its inception, the Doctor Who spin-off has made its own unique mark on the sci-fi scene. Brilliantly cast, written, and acted, the series stands out from the get go. While seasons one and two concentrate on the "Team" - to a degree as we are introduced to them, the third season becomes a different sort of tale, and the fourth, with the series' move to the US network Starz, takes a total departure from the initially very (apparently) covert little Torchwood of Cardiff, to a grander scale. Series three - Children of Earth - is about as dark as television can get, especially where it takes our primary protagonist. Series four - Miracle Day - takes a long time to get going, but overall, it's worth the wait, even if you don't love an element of the series' ending. If nothing else, it leaves one wanting to see what's next...and the wait continues. Definitely worth a look - it's a bit of an amalgam of CSI meets X-Files meets Doctor Who, and especialy during the first two series, the formula works perfectly.
