Great game

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Had problems first because the copy came with no activation key. Google search revealed this was a common problem so I contacted Ubisoft and Zavvi. I must say both were very helpful, Zavvi offered a full refund and even emailed return labels but luckily Ubisoft emailed the activation codes and all is perfect. This is a great game and really good value for money. It's brilliant to be able to use your guitar through the PC and access all different effects without having to set up your amp, pedals and effects units. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to learn guitar or just play for fun.

Rocksmith is the best learning tool for someone that wants to start playing guitar. I would recommend this to everyone that has just started playing guitar. Great fun and learning at the same time.

Better than console versions

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This game is great. I bet it would be useful for improving your guitar skills and learning songs if you know how to play the guitar a little bit. Rocksmith PC is better than the console versions as usual. Only if we had more established songs to play (from 80s and 90s mostly) But the biggest problem remains. You always have to go through tuning your guitar even if your guitar does not lose tune like mine. It's really distracting and something they should put an option to turn off. There is another little shortcoming and that is ASIO (or Asio4All & two sound cards at the same time) support for people who want zero latency.

Like guitar hero...for adults!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I'm sure if you are reading this you are aware of the now-classic Guitar Hero series. Well Rocksmith takes that excellent concept and lets you plug in your own guitar! It plays much like GH but since you are starring at the fret board of a real guitar it can get MUCH more complicated. However don't let that put you off, the game starts you off on the most basic of tunes imaginable. You literally begin by plucking one string with your finger on one fret every ~5 seconds. The game adjusts mid-song so although you start very slowly and can progress very slowly, if you hit every note then the game throws in more notes as you play. I've only played a few hours so far but am thoroughly enjoying it! In case you are wondering, this version does include the cable & mine DID include the CD key! In short: Really fun game that actually teaches you to play guitar & if you always wanted to learn but couldn't be bothered then this is for you!

Great game, pc version better than the consoles, terrible menus

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Rocksmith itself is great and it actually teaches you to play the guitar. I'm taking guitar lessons and the game is a really nice incentive to pick up the guitar, play the game a bit and the get to my actual training lessons. The PC version is vastly superior to the XBOX and PS3 versions in terms of loading times and input lag. A friend has the PS3 version and even after every optimasation possible there is a very noticeable lag between picking and hearing the sound. The only downside of the game is the terrible menu design - it is awful, one of the worst user interfaces I ever had to cope with in order to play a great game.

Very good item only just started using it today... I've never picked up a guitar before but enjoying the experience with Rocksmith. I would recommend to anybody wishing to learn how to play a guitar.
