I bought this for my daughter (42yrs old). We shall be watching it Christmas day as it is part of her Christmas present. I was very pleased with the service I received from Sendit.com I would recommend them to anyone.
I have seen the original Planet of the Apes movies and enjoyed them. I wondered what this movie could offer in terms of originality and improvement. It was obvious from the beginning that, not surprisingly, the special visual effects would be impressive - this is a very high standard in my opinion and made viewing easy on the eye and captivating. The chimpanzee's. gorilla and orangutan where so realistic. I like the way that we discover why the apes 'Rise' and I developed empathy for them. The movie begins with laboratories that are working on a cure for Alzheimers disease. Due a dangerous incident all animals are ordered to be destroyed and all are with the exception of an adorable bay chimpanzee. He will eventually become a valued and loved family member of the scientist who was developing a cure. Inquistive, strong, tenacious and extremely bright this young chimp becomes too much to handle in his adolescent years and the authorities remove him from his home - his new residence will prove to be a place of suffering but also liberation. The acting throughout the movie was quality and I liked the fact that some scenes and scenarios made me giggle - one scene made me cry too. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the film and would watch it again. Highly recommended.
ive seen this movie in the cinema and i recommend it to everyone the story line is really good and how the ape grows up but the movie is a little bit sad near the end
