Excellent film had to have it for my collection.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is an excellent reboot of the original film series, combining elements of Escape from the Planet of the Apes/Conquest of the Planet of the Apes minus the time travel which was integrated so much in the first series of films. There are elements of the first film Planet of the Apes with some memorable lines lifted. The performances and special effects are excellent, the film has a lot of heart which gets you emotionally involved rather than trying to impress with endless CGI, it flows with it which helps you bond with the human and ape characters. I can't recommend this film enough, it's breathed new life into a franchise that some had considered long dead.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was awesome! I had seen it in Cinema and forgotten the film but it was just like seeing it for the first time, it was fantastic!

After the disappointing Tim Burton remake of Planet of the Apes, a few years ago, I was not expecting to see a great film. How wrong I was! This is a truly great addition to the Planet of the Apes films and sets the scene for more films in the future. The blend of live action and CGI is breathtaking. You really believe everything Caesar and the other apes do, as their expressions are so life-like. This is a great triple play release as well - you get the useful digital copy to go on your iPod and a DVD copy for the kids to play in their bedrooms. I was very impressed with the quality of the bluray sound and picture. This is a recommended purchase.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a great movie! It boasts a good image quality and very good sound clarity. Definitely worth buying.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes comes out of nowhere to reveal itself as one of the best out-and-out blockbuster of the summer. The story of medical-marvel turned captive turned revolutionary chimp Caesar is both affecting and exhilarating, with Andy Serkis turning in yet another well rounded and utterly convincing performance through the digital make-up of motion capture technology. The plot presents the admittedly bizarre concept of talking apes- helped by a more conventional sci-fi setting in the original- in a believable way, and also gives many knowing winks to the previous films. There are several moments when franchise-cide seems imminent, but director Rupert Wyatt never goes there, instead delivering a true crowd pleaser, which deftly sets the stage for more monkey-business to come.

When I first heard they were attempting a reboot of the Planet Of The Apes films I was horror stricken, especially after the debacle that was bestowed upon us by Tim Burton, So it was, with great trepidation, that I ventured to my local cinema to watch `Rise`. I need not have worried. Just from the first few minutes I could iell that the director was true fan of the original movies and had no intention of doing them harm. In fact, what we have here is a is an absolute gem of a film, Great acting, superb story and unbelievable effects all combine to make thi something very special indeed, I kid you not, in my oppinion this is by far the best movie of the year (probably the last couple of years actually) and I have been counting down the days until I could buy it. I understand from recent press reports that the film studio that produced it were so happy with the finished product that the have already commissioned TWO more sequels. CAN`T WAIT....

Excellent this franchise has come back from the grave. Excellent enjoyment for all the family.

This is the best Planet Of The Apes movie, they have ever mad, great acting, story, and special effects. The picture and sound quality on my Panasonic is excellent. A 5 star film.
