''Contagion', despite having an impressive cast and slick direction, is a one note film. Based around the zeitgeist-bothering concept that in our modern, interconnected world the human race is potentially suitable to a rapid-spreading and utterly deadly virus, the bulk of the film revolves around a different individuals experiences with this plague. Inevitably there are crossovers and points at which the different story threads collide and converge, but unlike other multi-plot films that you might care to think of 'Contagion' has no real surprises or action to help smooth the ride towards a conclusion that is effectively telegraphed about a third of the way in. This leaves it with just wave-upon-wave of misery washing over the characters, most of whom are underdeveloped due to what can only be described as overcrowding in the lead role department. One significant high point, which wins it back a star or two, is the excellent soundtrack, and despite being lacking in the plot/story department it is well made and the actors involved all put in performances worthy of their status as 'stars' All-in-all, this will only satisfy those who have a real interest in the subject matter and is not one for a cosy Saturday night in or a laugh with pals.
This is a really good film. The kids were a bit dubious, but loved it.
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, fine outing by all the cast. Mind you, the Jude Law character made you want to have someone punch him in the nose for his actions by the end when all was revealed!
Contagion was nothing great, only alright.
Another okay film. It's not a thriller, just a little political film. It has lots of stars in it, but all with small roles.
