As stated by other reviewers, Land of the Giants has aged well and the picture quality is generally to a high standard. This series thankfully did not reach the level of fantasy that quickly ruined Irwin Allen's other series, notably Lost in Space and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. The quality of the writing is variable and, given the limitations of the premise, the storylines are predictably repetitive - peril with cat, peril with mad scientists, etc. The concept is far better handled in the film adaptation of Richard Matheson's The Incredible Shrinking Man, which takes a highly philosophical stance. Note that the packaging for this product has been updated and no longer contains the art codes stated above or the original series booklets. In fact, it's a rather cheap polythene plastic box with the DVDs in holders; the only attraction of having the two series in this format is therefore the content.

From the golden era of television when people were creative, inventive and masters of their craft. The actors are good abs reliable, sometimes a bit hammy but it adds to the charm and nostalgia. Given the budgets and computer wizardry of today it makes you appreciate irwin allens genius even more in attempting such a series. If your studying film these type of shows from the 60s 70s etc are great examples of maximising location and sets. Highly recommend.

Absolute classic series! I watched this as a kid, first time round. If you haven't seen it you should.

Land Of The Giants is great. I'm only on the first disc at the moment but I'm very happy and pleased to see an old favourite from the 60's. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending.
