The ION Water Rocker is a decent solution for waterproof music and radio listening, but not perfect. We reviewed it for a TV special on summer and outdoor entertainment products and our three product testers' verdicts came up with the following bullet points: - Sound quality is tolerable, but unexpectedly muffled due to the waterproof membrane over the speaker drivers - Volume is notably louder when using the FM radio, and lacking when using the external audio device transmitter. - It uses 8 AA batteries but positively boasts a very long battery life. - It can safely float and dive in a pool or tub and while floating the speakers stay over water. After dunking the speakers, sound will be very muffled and you should blow into the speaker grills once on each side just to remove the droplets stuck in the small holes to regain full volume. - GSM interference only appeared once for us using the wireless mode and never during FM play. - You don't have any playback (Play Pause Skip etc) control for wireless mode, so you should prepare playlists for hands-free listening. Overall we recommended the ION Water Rocker more for individuals under the shower, in the bathtub or on a beach towel, and less for groups of people or pool situations.
