Having missed this film at the cinema, I eventually bought the dvd prior to owning a bluray player. This film is so good that I had to then buy a bluray copy as well as buying (ebay) a (still) unused bluray Steelbook. This is one of the best ever action films ever made, trust me it is. Films don't simply become 'cult classics', they earn it and boy does The Raid earn it! Fantastic. So good that I had to see The Raid 2 in the cinema, and that film is even better than the first offering! Brilliant films, now have both on bluray and both in Steelbook editions. Can't wait to see The Raid 3 when it comes out. :-)

This one sets the bar higher than ever before. Believable brutal fight scenes, amazing choreography, a 90 minute action feast. Awesome stuff!

The Raid is like a beautiful ballet filled with face kicking and amazing ultra violence, a welcome breath of fresh air in an increasingly stagnating genre. A must see for action lovers.

The Raid is awesome. A lot of action with no limit! However, I did not like the English synchro. Therefore, 4 of 5 stars!

The Raid is in the same vein as the recent Dredd, where the good guys get trapped in a building and get ambushed by the bad guys wherever they go. This is non-stop action where the bad guys go all out to stop the good guys from getting close to the Leader. It's not for the faint-hearted as heads get smashed, necks and arms get broken.

Its full on awesome! Amazing fight scenes all the way though.

The Raid is a fantastic action flick. It makes Die Hard look like a Sunday afternoon rom-com. :-)))

The Raid (also known as The Raid: Redemption) is a fantastic action movie. Although there is little in the way of a plot and character development compared with other movie genres, there is enough that you find characters to sympathise with and like. The fighting is stunning, gritty, exciting and quite frankly, amazing and you're left thinking 'wow - not the nicest guy in the world, but bloody hell can he put up a fight'. I would definitely recommend this to fans of action movies and martial-art movies

wow this film totally surprised everyone, I was flabbergasted.. out of nothing comes this excellent action film from the east although directed by an unknown welsh man. For action there is no film better that I have seen for a long time no wire works or cgi all real, if you are a fan of Ong Bak or warrior king then this is definatley for you, if you havent watched either of those then watch them and this and be prepared to have your gast flabbered

Was not disappointed. If you're after just a bit of mindless violence then you can't go to wrong with this film. The fight scenes are amazing!
