Nintendo change the game again

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

After a long time playing the same old consoles in the same old way we finally have something new thanks to the Wii U! The introduction of the game pad gives a new dimension to the way the games are played. The pad is very responsive and is good to hold. Probably less well advertised is the wiiverse community, an online area to exchange comments, get help on games you may be stuck on, it's all seamless and intuitive. There are some good release games and some more on the way, I'd recommend a purchase.

Wii U

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Wii U puts a great emphasis on couch co-op. Being able to have 5 friends round again and all play together is lots of fun, and to top it off all the in house Nintendo characters are now displayed in glorious HD. It comes with an HDMI cable, so HD straight out the box unlike the PS3 and Xbox360. Build quality is as tight as ever, however the glossy finish is hard to keep clean. Online is still a work in progress but nothing a few updates won't fix. If you're thinking of purchasing a Wii U go for the 32GB version, the 8GB just isn't viable if you plan to game online and purchase from the Nintendo E shop over the next couple of years, unless you already own an external hard drive.
