great movie in a good box. a must have.

I was very impressed with the picture quality of the movies in this set. I can say with confidence that the image on my 58" HDTV is sharper and clearer than anything that was shown in the theaters when these titles were released. If you are a fan of the genre, this set is for you.

It's amazing to watch these 8 cult movies completely restored. Universal has made an impressive work. Legends of terror and cinema history to watch as they looked the day of the premiere.

I was very pleased with the Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection, cheap compared to other websites the movies themselves look amazing considering their age. So far, I have have watched " the mummy" and "dracula" and whilst not scary they are good fun and well made! There are some nice extras include lobby cards and a booklet, the actual discs are well protected in a firm gatefold sleeve. But the outer casing is a bit flimsy. I am playing them on my ps3 through my pioneer kuro TV coupled with my bose cinemate they do indeed look and sound better than ever so I will be recommending this as a definite purchase for all you movie buffs out there!
