After seeing it in the cinema I wanted to see the alternative ending and beginning and I wasn't disappointed. The extras are pretty sweet too, an essential for any film enthusiast!

Prometheus is a great film, with great visuals and stunning sound. This film has really tried hard to give a beginning to the Alien films, while having a story of its own. It stays true to the Alien legacy and I can't wait to watch it again.

Saw 'Prometheus' at the cinema. Also enjoyed the Blu-ray disc. Both my grandson and I (56 years separate our ages) - consider that Ridley Scott did well! We also noted that Mark Kermode liked it. Unfortunately, all the hype that preceded the release gave rise to a number of misconceptions as to exactly what the film was about, as well as what some thought it should be about. Yes - I liked the 'Alien' films - especially the first two. However, I did not expect a sort of repeat performance/sequel with Prometheus. I did expect the film to get some knocks - and it did. I do not intend to dissect the minutiae of possible gaffs and other anomalies that some love to explore especially in the sci-fi genre. Remember, it is SCIENCE FICTION and in space no one can hear you criticise.

I can't understand the negative opinions given for this film. Prometheus is a great bit of sci-fi. Beautifully shot, great sets and the effects blend very well. The story is interesting and the suspense and thrills are good. It's not perfect, there's a couple of casting issues and too many plot hints! I hope they continue and I look forward to what comes next.

Good film. Really impressive special effects, a visual masterpiece.
