Sam Raimi. Bruce Campbell. The evil dead steelbook. Need i say more.Buy it.

Easily the best steelbook version of this film to date! My favorite in the series for its gritty and earthy horror feel. Plus it was a terrorific price!!! Zavvi rocks.

Still the best jump out of your seat horror movie.A steal at this price.

It’s difficult to review the product without mentioning the iconic film itself, but it’s even harder to do just the product itself, considering there are currently a number of steelbook releases for The Evil Dead on the market. Firstly, zavvi were once again prompt, efficient, and I received the product well before the quoted delivery date. Considering I live on a dirty big rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, I’m always amazed that somehow zavvi continue to get items to me well & truly on time. Thanks guys. As far as the physical product itself goes, whilst the matt finish on the steelbook artwork was fine, there was no embossing, which would have been great, either on the image or the title (see the zaavi The Shining steelbook for a classic example of subtle yet effective embossed image & title cover art). The Evil Dead steelbook film menu navigation was ok, and there were some interesting extras for this release that I hadn’t seen before. There is currently a lot of talk about aspect ratios for various releases for this film, but the zavvi UK release has used the anamorphic 1.85:1 ratio, which is a full screen view as per the film’s original 16mm framing. All up, a good product, a great price, just wished the steelbook would have had some embossing on the cover to really make this release stand out.

Evil Dead is one of the most famous and best horror movies in movie history. I was very happy when I got the chance to get this movie not only on Blu-ray, but also in a fantastic steelbook. The kind of edition this movie deserves! Great disc - really happy I bought it.

Really nice finish to the artwork with a great complimentary price with extremely fast delivery, no room for complaints. The film has be redone really well with great sound and picture quality making it a must have
