I bought Hope Springs for my mother who enjoys Meryl Streep films. She said the casting was great, with Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell also playing excellent parts. She enjoyed the film, it was cheaper for the Blu-ray than for the DVD which I cannot complain about, the quality was good and the audio is as can be expected from a Blu-ray. We don't have the greatest television set or speakers so I cannot comment on whether it is much better than the DVD in terms of quality. All-in-all this is a good purchase and arrived within the allotted time as usual with Zavvi.

Although I enjoyed Hope Springs, I thought it didn't really match up to all the hype. Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones acted it brilliantly, but I found the pace very slow. Yes, it was never billed an action film. but is an insight into the marriage of two people who have lost their spark, and how they find their way back. I found it best to watch on my own or with a female friend - I think I'd squirm to watch it with my mother or husband!

Hope Springs itself was not as we expected, and not as humourous as we thought it would be. But the story itself is lovely. There are a lot of funny moments, but a fair amount of serious ones. It's a good film that you can laugh and cry about at the same time. It's easy for all the family to watch, and very light-hearted. The story itself is based on an issue that a lot of people have when they get older and their kids have moved out - it's very realistic and funny. Overall, I thought it was a pleasant.
