As someone who played the previous games I was quite disappointed that Capcom remade the lore in DmC: Devil May Cry but as I kept playing I decided to give it another chance and the game did the rest. The game engine is quite different from the previous games and gives the player a huge amount of combos combinations instead of some fancy abilities and skills. It's full of craziness and a new great lore. This is very recommended.
I haven't played all the previous DMCs so I dont know the story all that well, but it isn't a problem for me. The story is good enough for an action game because most action games have a bit of a shallow story. I like that Ninja Theory changed the way Dante looks although that might make some people angry. The series is so old that it needs some refreshments. I'm also a fan of action games like God of War, Darksiders, Dante's Inferno, so this certainly hit the spot for me. I also like heavy music so the fighting parts are really good when you have good music playing in the background. All-in-all DmC is a solid title and I'll be waiting for the next game.
