The Cedar Tree - Series 1: Volume 3. This was a great mid 1970s drama from ATV set in the 1930s and concerned the Bourne family from Larkfield Manor, Herefordshire. It started off as a bit of an early afternoon filler for ITV, so it's all studio-based, with just a few different sets. Am guessing that it was recorded 'as-live', with little in the way of editing or re-takes; there's some charming fluffed lines and stumbles from the cast, but this is compensated for by some good stories and well written scripts. The sets are good too. All three volumes in this first series are well presented, but no extras, unfortunately. Overall, good value and recommended. Will certainly be buying the next set when they're released. © Koplowitz 2013
