pretty good

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Very swish and some funky new features (being able to shout "Xbox record that!" records the last 2 minutes of gameplay is pretty funky). Only not got 5 stars due to some release bugs such as party chat not working properly and lack of release games, ryse is awesome but battlefield 4 is buggy as hell (but still fun). That said being able to video chat from skype on it is nice, the kinect is useful but i tend to turn it off when actually watching shows and use the remote.

Amazing

The machine is well built, with no noise from the console when switched on. There are a number of interesting features to this new hardware, the first being that when the console is switched on it automatically switches the tv on and puts it to the correct hdmi port. The day one edition came with a code for a special achievement and a limited edition commemorative controller. All items include are of high quality. I will openly admit to being an Xbox fan boy but that said there is no doubt this console is of a higher standard than its predecessor. The PS4 and Xbox one appear at the moment to be on a leave playing field so the only question would be which side of the fence do u sit on? PS4 or Xbox one? I know where I sit!

The future is now

Beyond a games console , love the way I easily switch between blu ray films to games to TV without messing about with my amp or tv inputs , can even change the volume all with voice commands Can't wait for the full TV integration to take it up a notch. As for the games obvious graphical improvement over the 360 , which is nothing less than expected , when games engines are fine tuned to the hardware they'll become better still , overall new era of home entertainment dawns

Great console for gaming and the added bonus Blu-Ray player and the apps for netflix etc. Keeps the other half entertained and out of trouble, totally worth the money with a good selection of games available.

Xbox one

Overall excellent but a few little issues tho, for instance theirs no tv passthrough unless it's turned on so I had to try an teach the mrs how to watch sky. She wasn't happy with the Faffing at first. The tv picture doesn't fill the screen on certain channels . The voice commands are abit hit and miss at times if there's a few people in the room. Sometimes when I switch to games after watching tv the game freezes for about 5 secs then it flicks me back to the home screen which is annoying. I would definitely recommend to a friend but I would tell them that it doesn't quite work aswell as it shows on the TV adverts.

I'm not some crazy fan boy, I've been fortunate enough to buy both machines, but for me the Xbox is a clear winner. I've seen the graphical comparisons online but to my eyes when playing they both look fantastic. What makes the difference for me personally is the extras, I like using the voice commands, snapping things to the side and the use of the cloud in Forza for drivatars is amazing. I love both the Xbox and PS4 but the Xbox just feels that bit more next gen.
