A good film which I enjoyed; the special effects were absolutely brilliant as was the 3D. Henry Cavill looked the part of Superman; and Russell Crowe as his father was superb, so why only four stars? I didn't fully engage with the film as I kept thinking of Christopher Reeve and how Mr Cavill couldn't quite match his charisma. So although overall it was superior to the earlier Superman films; it didn't quite have the magic. So four stars for an enjoyable film with a well-designed, high quality steelbook.

A thoroughly enjoyable reboot of the Superman story.. Cavill does a great job of stepping into Christopher Reeve's red boots. I would highly recommend this movie to either die hard Superman fans or anyone who is new to the world of The Man of Steel.

Top film ' action most of the way through the movie with a nice and quick introduction to who ' where and why ! As a dc comic reader I found this film a great transaction from superman comic to a superman movie

As a life long superman fan, something drastic was needed after Superman Returns to bring the original superhero back to the big screen in style. Here you have it and while not all the fan boys like it, it was just what the character deserved! Think of this first film as platform for both Superman and DC comics and look forward to what is to come!

If your thinking about adding this to your collection please note it says 'Man of Steel 3D' on the front. I clearly understand that artwork can change. I don't understand how a film name changes. The additional 3d text total wrecks the title. Its bigger than the title and does nothing for the overall look.
