Took a flyer with this one. Knew nothing about it. Got it from Zavvi when it was a pre order because I liked the steelbook artwork. I am so happy that I did. It is a fantastic film, great story, great acting, great characters, great cinematography, really really great fight choreography. In fact pretty much everything about this film is great. The steelbook artwork on the front is very nice, but would have been better if it had some embossing or debossing. The back is plain & frankly disappointing. The disc has top notch visual/audio quality, but no extras save for a trailer. But do not let that detract from a truly excellent film. If you love Asian cinema then this is a must, if not then give it a go & you won't be disappointed.
i purchased this on a blind buy as id never seen this before but am fond of movies in this genre, the basic plot line is a samurai has finished his tore in the wars and nows roams the streets as a loaner, until he visits a certain village where a drug dealer is making life difficult for the public, even though the story is simple its beautifully shot and theirs plenty of slicing and dicing sword action, overall a good purchase but this was let down by a poor steelbook weekly made and the artwork is no excistent except from the front, my advice by it for the movie and not the steelbook...
Excellent movie it will have a part 2 in cinemas in August : "Ruroni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" and a part 3 in September. Hope zavvi will have steelbook for these parts.
