'Hobson's Choice' has an engaging plot and is superbly acted. The picture and sound on this new blu-ray are excellent and have made a massive difference to the film - which should now be more enjoyable than ever. The extras on the disc are on the light side, but I would guess that that shouldn't be any more than a very minor quibble for any buyer who wants a pristine copy of the film in their collection.

When talking about David Lean it’s hard not to wax rhapsodic! From the opening chords of Sir Malcolm Arnold’s music we know what we are about to experience is of distinct quality. The restoration of this classic is first class, with the glowing cinematography popping as it should. The bonus features include a charming interview with Prunella Scales and a more in depth interview with the screenwriter Norman Spencer. Highly recommended!
