Being a fan of previous editions this game was a natural addition. It's dead straight forward for the budding dictator to make their personal stamp on their island and for those needing close council there is help at hand with pointers given by your (not so) trusty advisors. Sandbox mode has plenty of options though the best has to be unlimited funds. There are several different islands in this mode, which is good, but this really should have been an option for the campaign mode. Instead, you're only given the choice of two maps per campaign. What is the difference between the basic and deluxe edition? In this you're provided with your own hard copy of a Tropico passport and a nice little postcard (made from the cheapest, thinnest card I've seen ). Nice if you're into that sort of thing I suppose but not really worth going out of your way for. There is an addition download which I haven't got the chance to look into yet, I think it's an online market place to sell on your produce, and this is going to be the reason you will want this over the standard issue.
I'm a big fan of both tropico 3 and 4, I really enjoyed playing 4 on console with the soundtracks and quite fun yet challenging builder. Tropico 5 is great, even though there isn't much time deference between the releases of 4 and 5 and the general similar layout, it looks great! A nice tweak with the graphics and new features make this just as fun to play as with the last features. If you love the god like sim city builder with a nice Cuban twist then you will love this!
