Far-go and watch it, now!

I groaned when they announced a Fargo spin-off for TV. I literally read the news and let out an audible yelp of disapproval. So i will be honest in saying that when i watched episode 1, i was vehemently decided upon hating this show. But somehow, showrunner Noah Hawley managed to work some kind of voodoo mind trickery, and went and created something wonderful. Fargo, the show, is absolutely hilarious. It oozes a kind of oily charm, and sticky ugliness that come together into television gold. It is literally like some kind of alchemy! Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton don't so much as compete for the limelight, as manage to cut it cleanly in half and bask in their own individual brilliance. Second only to maybe Game of Thrones, The Shield, Breaking Bad and The Sopranos, has a show so easily made you cheer for such douche-bags. The cinematography and writing on display here is something to be truly admired and studied, and it looks and sounds great on blu ray. This is a shining example of how refreshing and great modern television can become, and even in the apparent TV renaissance we are currently having, it manages to stand out in a crowd. Bring on season 2.
