This little droid is adorable. So far I've had a blast both controlling it and using patrol mode and just watching him go. It comes with a cute little orange charging pad that doubles as a display stand when your not playing with the droid. Just a few things to note -his head is kept on by magnets and if you crash too hard into a wall or try to drive the droid under something and it doesbt fit the head will pop off so you'll spend a bit of time retrieving its head -dust and dirt will get caught in the small wheels under the heads but its easy enough to clean -the noises bb8 makes emit from your phone or tablet and sadly not from the droid itself. Also the video function doesn't come from the droid but needs to be viewed using augmented reality through your phones or tablets camera. -so far the plastic covering bb8 seems to be very sturdy and durable. While I can't imagine it'll survive a long or hard fall it does quite well in the inevitable crashing into walls and objects it tends to encounter. While I very much enjoy playing with my bb8 droid it is a bit expensive considering it will spend most of its time just on display really. If your a huge star wars fan then definitely go for this. If your not you wont get much enjoyment from it.

Really great gift, so glad I bought it. He loves it and was so grateful. Gets a lot of use out of it. I had to wait for this item to come in to stock before it eventually was dispatched to me but it was well worth the wait and did end up coming just in time.

Brilliant gadget no problems setting up with IOS and was hilarious when put into patrol mode and it stopped in front of the dog and sounded "beep beep". voice command was good although once or twice picked background noise instead. App is updated regularly and apart from BB8 losing his head every now and then due to a collision with the sofa or other object have no problems at all. When unpacking removing the plastic from under his head as did not see this mentioned in instructions.

I bought 2 gifts at a very reasonable price, they arrived quickly and were well packaged. I would recommend buying from this Company I will always check them if I need anything in future.

BB-8 is too cool not to have! The box it comes in is very nice and once you set up the device with Blutooth on your smart device (Apple or android) it easy and intuitive to use, has a few emotions it shows and you can also put it on autopilot which is very cool, the BB-8 unit has a bit of wieght to it and the magnetic head is very strong so it's a sturdy product overall. Only downside is no sound comes form the actual device but from the app on your phone. The charging station is pretty cool as it charges wirelessly, give about 1 hour of use! Enjoy!!

BB-8 is a cute and fun little droid that works very well. It rolls around comfortably on carpet and hard flooring and is very easy to control. I've used my iphone and ipad without issue, you just need the blutooth on. Star Wars fans will love it and so will the kids.

This is a great little gadget to have if you are a Star Wars fan.

Sphero's BB8 is one of a kind toy/collector's item! Exact (yet smaller) replica of the loveable droid spins and turns with the help of your smartphone or tablet being used as a remote. It surely has a learning curve but as soon as you master it, you will be ready to reenact your favorite scenes from the movie. The Force is strong with this one!

Having BB-8 around is like having a little pet, he's just so cute, just like in the film. I had a bit of a technical problem initially, but managed to get it going and he's as happy as larry! my Star Wars fan friend have all enjoyed playing with him, and when he explores on his own in Patrol mode it is very funny to see his reactions when he encounters obstacles and how he gets out of awkward situations. All in all, a great, fun little toy and robotic pet to have around for any Star Wars fan - and his charging pad makes for a great display stand, too!
