The first series plays much homage to the originals but builds up new characters to venture forth. The second series comes into its own. Character development and plots are a pleasure to watch. Clarke is a proven sitcom writer and it still continues, he makes simple situations sublimely funny and his characters merit their places. He juggles screen time between them to perfection. A true master of his craft and any new comedy writer should invest time to watch his material.
