First off, the Tshirt. Well I know I'm getting old (T minus 38 days until I hit the big 5 0) , because my son had to explain the symbol on the shirts breast. Okay I can see the pokeball, but the rest alluded me. Did I mention that I'm old. Okay on with the review. Quality wise the Tshirt has no issues. I have had worse from sub boxes. Some that are so thin you can almost see through them. This one on the other hand was better than I was expecting, considering the price. Thumbs up for the Tshirt. Onto the book. Hmmm what to say, I was kind of hoping for a more fantasy/horror/Sifi/superhero related read. This is definitely not one I would of picked up for myself if I saw it in the shops. But saying that . Having started reading it , I'm getting quite into it. I didn't see the BBC series that has been on. Will wait until I have finished the book before I go looking at it. Will I stick with the subscription. Well yes, one can never have to many tshirts. ( my wife would disagree, she thinks 67 is way to many for one man) As for the reading material. I'm glad to get a book. Here's hoping more people subscribe and take time to read a book. So many people haven't picked up anything heavier than a news paper since they left school.

I have been subscribed to this for a free years now and really liked the range of t shirts and books. However, the last few months have been pretty bad. The t shirts (while great) have been stuff I could buy from the shop if I wanted to, they're no longer original or quirky. The books have all been either Star Trek or DC graphic novels. I'm a massive Star Trek fan and even I think it's too much. Cancelling my subscription now because there are much better loot boxes out there.

Ordered the threads subscription a couple days ago, I have already received my free mystery past thread box and I must say, WOW, I got a great Alien inspired Tee and also a Sci-Fi book called Armada, this book is right up my street as I do like my Sci-Fi related stuff. I recommend using this subscription. Still got one more Tee and book/novel to come and I must say I am already completely happy with my purchase! Kudos Zavvi! Keep up the good work. Also got a ZBOX subscription on its way! Cant wait to see what goodies are in it.

January 2019 box very disappointing in my opinion. The t shirt is ok but boring compared to the usual designs and the book is childish. Not impressed, cancelled my subscription. I did however get a free mystery past threads which I liked alot.

Can't seem to find a way to update my previous review, but thought it only fair to say that today I received an email from Zavvi confirming that the wrong graphic novel was put in the last box and the correct one is being shipped out. So well done Zavvi.

I bought a 3 month subscription as a gift. He was really happy with the tee and graphic novel he got and is looking forward to the next two! The tee is really good quality, I ordered size M and it was a true fit. He's going to subscribe when his 3 months are up and was even more pleased when I told him the price. Well done Zavvi, this is a subscription box that is actually useful. No filler at all just a great tee and some fantastic reading material.

Brilliant value for money, it's definitely worth £9.99 a month even if the tshirt isn't to your taste it's soft enough to wear to bed. And getting a random book/graphic novel is great for me as I tend to read the same types of books and graphics novels by the same publisher. This is a good way to branch out. In March 2018's box I received a Judge Dredd tshirt in grey (past boxes have been mostly black) with Judge Dredds gun Lawgiver on it with stylised Japanese writting. Very soft and comfortable to wear. The graphic novel was Fantastic Four book number 4 which is part of the ultimate collection. Not sure why we received number four but happy to jump into it as I don't read enough Marvel. Also in the box was a single issue of Fighting America by Titan Comics. Great box, the Fantastic Four graphic novel is selling on Amazon for over £25 when I checked so that in itself is great. Only issue is trying to pick up the other books.

Love the t-shirts, great designs that are subtle but distinct, and are a great fit. Books are average at best although I have only got issues 3 and 4. Will buy again cause of the t-shirts but am hoping for a better book for the future.

I have only just received the first box but must admit I am pleasantly surprised by the T-shirt design (the fabric is nice and comfortable also) with a very good choice of sci-fi novel in the first box (I won't say what it is). The thing that makes Threads different is it is very specially a T-shirt and book (or graphic novel) combo so if you don't want a whole box full of stuff to clutter your shelves then this is a good alternative. Like any of these 'mystery crates' you will run the risk of eventually getting one with a theme you are not at all interested in, but thats part of the fun because conversely you are also likely to get a nice surprise one a month. £9.99 is a good price is you can afford it, and you can always cancel.
