I remember this film when it first came out. It had trouble finding an audience then and I don’t think the passing years change that. Great performances all round and some themes that will keep you thinking long after the credits roll. I still find it a fascinating piece of filmmaking that is well worth a look. The Blu-ray is a distinct improvement over my old DVD. The picture quality is much more consistent and the colour palette is much more realistic. The soundtrack is a different matter. Can be harsh and tinny at times and lots of overlapping dialogue doesn’t help the clarity. That being said it’s still a worthy addition to any collection, don’t let the cover art put you off.
