This animation movie got a score of 97 % from the rotten tomatoes site. Which is absolutely high and this score is exactly how this movie is. A story which grabs young and old. The 3D is a plus for this movie. Not that you have to duck but some part are floating out of the screen, surely when Kubo shows off his origami arts So a big 5 star movie, a must have for animation movie lovers.
Simply the best film I have seen since Mad Max. The story is beautiful and just the right amount of dark, charming and clever. Where the film really comes into its own is the animation; painstakingly crafted in stop motion over 5 years, Laika have set a new standard for movie making. The sets and characters are epic, and even things you think might be CGI like water, are actually puppetry. I used to look forward to every new Pixar film, but now they only make cheesey Disney rubbish, my new wait is a much longer one for the next film from this studio.
Very entertaining movie for the whole family. In bluray the quality of the drawing jumps from the screen. Among other languages comes Castilian. Really worth it.
All I can say is what a stunning film this is, although it is a tad scary in places for very young children under 4 years old for example. My 4 year old loved it and I did as well, the animation is amazing, the voice cast are spot on as well, the story and script are brilliant. Kubo is a likeable character and I would recommend the film to young and old. Great.
