I'd never heard of slime moulds before watching this documentary, which makes a case that we have only a rudimentary understanding of this lifeform. While some of the applications of slime moulds are interesting, the best part of this documentary is the time lapses of the moulds themselves and the highly stylised nature of the documentary due to a strong, somewhat experimental soundtrack from Jim O'Rourke. Lovely touch that this Blu-ray/dvd set also comes with a soundtrack cd.
