This is one of the best horror movies ever made. I'm happy this steelbook edition has been released. Unfortunately there is a small dent noticable on the right side of both steelbooks I received. I encourage Zavvi regarding quality checks and efforts towards secured packaging.

I had not seen this film before. I had only seen the Ryan Reynolds remake. I'd been waiting years to see this original version of the movie. I'll tell you know, I think it's more creepy than the remake. Amityville Horror 1979 is a good 2 hours long. It sucks you in and pulls you along for the ride. If you've seen the remake, you have to remember you are actually watching a 70s horror and not a film made to look like a 70s film. It's gritty, dark and a great nostalgic watch if you like to witness horror films of old. This Steelbook is just the kind of packaging I had been waiting for to get this first time UK Blu-Ray release. Well worth the money and a must for any avid horror film collector.
