Romero makes some bold choices with little in the way of budget to back them up. Personally, the anonymity of the Crazies adds to the dread, rather than the overtly made-up versions in the remake in the 2000’s (not a bad film). Extras are a real sell here; we have a lot to go through with our performers’ reflections and experiences during the film.
