After the disappointment of 'SW: The Last Jedi' (poor editing? poor story? insert your thoughts here) - 'Solo' comes as a more-than-pleasant surprise, being a combination of origin story, heist/con thriller and comedy/action film. All the leads are well cast but Phoebe Waller-Bridge almost steals the show as L3-37. Its (apparently) troubled production and change of director is not evident at all and although Ron Howard wasn't an obvious choice to take the helm, he does a brilliant job here. More tales of the modified YT-1300 Corellian light freighter anyone?
