This film is quite good, but it must not be missing from the collection.
Love this movie. Isn’t as dark as the others and doesn’t deserve all the hate. It’s light hearted, action packed and looks amazing. The one liners are typical comic book sequences and adds to the nostalgia.
I loved this film growing up through all of its cheesiness but my god there's just some films that aren't meant for 4K restoration and this is top of that list.
Really nice packaging with cardboard sleeve. Picture quality is amazing and the movie looks like it was made this year.
Yes, this movie is the weakest of any cinematic Bat outing & it makes die hard fans cringe, but due to the recent sad passing of director Joel Schumacher, I gave in & added this to the rest of my 4K collection. It goes without saying the upgrade in picture & sound is outstanding, but the added bonus of this guilty pleasure viewing is Schumacher's frank commentary - he admits his responsibility for the picture & isn't in defense of the studio's need for making toys & merch off the visuals rather than a producing a great movie. Just remember that Scorcese & Spielberg made bombs in their careers & weren't hung out to dry by the media like Schumacher was - a shame his death has now made skeptics respect what other great movies he made & wasn't remembered for. PS Uma Thurman gives a far better performance than folks remember as 'Poison Ivy' despite being lumbered with as many bad puns as Arnie's 'Mr. Freeze'.
An amazing true 4k transfer makes the most of a bad situation. The HDR ensures that the colours pop and blacks are inky.
Schumacher wanted to try & go darker than Forever, but WB wanted kid friendly, and pushed for it to be "toyetic" , they wanted a 2 hour toy advert. Hence the several new costumes, the multiple vehicles. They forgot plot & script along the way. Every aspect of the production is horrible. It's a '90s kids' TV show on a movie budget. The puns, the overacting, it's all just terrible. Schwarzenegger and Thurman especially should be ashamed. George Clooney will actually refund the ticket price to anyone he meets who saw it in theatres at release. The disc itself is another gem in terms of picture & sound quality.
