Finally, Bond comes to 4K, OK, Bond has been available on Sky 4K satellite, but this is the first time Bond is available to own on 4K Blu-ray! Picture is impressive, as is sound. Extras are a tad on the light side, would have liked an in-depth documentary, covering all aspects of filming the Bond movies. If 4K looks impressive, how will 8K be? As 8K won’t be available for the masses any time soon, settle for this. First there was Video, then Philips / Sony’s DVD’s, then the battle of the HD Disc formats, Sony’s Blu-ray being the winner. Let’s hope that the other Bond films will become available to own on 4K. I, for one would be in 00Heaven to own 007!
Not only is the image quality of the 4K disc exceptional (as you would expect), but I find the 4K versions to also have better sound quality. It all makes for a very pleasing experience.
Both picture and sound give new life to the films. Casino Royale was always my personal favourite of the Graig era, but having now watched Quantum, Skyfall, and Spectre on 4K, I can attest that all four films look and sound deeper in both story and action.
