The black and white animation suits this reconstruction well, making the Daleks look more formidable, then they could have looked in the now lost TV broadcast. This was the first story that Patrick Troughton appeared as the 2nd Doctor, with the companions Ben and Polly not sure if they trust him, after witnessing the first regeneration in the story. But this adds to the whole sense of paranoia as a human colony discovers 3 deactivated Daleks and brings 1 back to life. Then the Doctor battles to warn the colony, while different factions think they can exploit the Daleks, who say they are their servants, while pursuing their own agenda. This is a great classic Doctor Who story which is able to use it's six episode structure and present the Daleks for a first time as an intelligent threat that manipulates humans.
The animation is much improved from the first release, more fluid and interesting. The revamp felt correct. The extra special features are a nice addition. The actual item was delivered very quickly.
