i'll get this out of the way up front, i am one of the few people who prefer DC films to Marvel, although i appreciate the craft inherent in the MCU, and i liked the version of Justice League that hit the cinemas. yes, it had rushed plotting and a jovial tone that did not fit with the dark DC universe set up in the previous films but it had a lot that was good about it as well. This 4 hour Snyder Cut of the film is far superior. Giving backstory to Cyborg and more room for Flash adds plenty to the story and it is great to see almost an entirely different ending. Last time Superman turned up, saved the day then had to run off to save some random strangers Whedon shoehorned into the plot, then came back and saved the day again. Now the black suited Superman, as well as the whole JL, have far more sensibly scripted actions. The addition of Darkseid adds weight to the threat and the much maligned 'Knightmare' epilogue sequence tantalises the DC fan with a taste of the Injustice storyline Snyder with the dream Bruce Wayne had about Flash in Batman vs Superman. We will likely not see anything more of that storyline but there was something deliciously post apocalytic about seeing glimpses of it. Great dvd design and art, impressive picture and sound, fantastic addition to my DC library.
