Best kung fu movie boxset ever

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

My review of Warriors Two & The Prodigal Son: Two Films By Sammo Hung (Eureka Classics) Limited-Edition 2-Disc Blu-ray 2 of the finest wing chun kung fu films ever made, essential blu-ray for every kung fu movie collector, I have owned various versions of both films going back to VHS video era, this blu-rays are the best these films ever have looked & sounded. Warriors Two Eureka has removed the thing I hated the most about the Hong Kong Legends version of Warriors Two, the Elvis tune near the start of the film in the tea house, this tune has no place in this classic & by Eureka removing this tune proves it. Not much when it comes to extra's with this blu-ray, a archive featurette introduced by Bey Logan same as on the Hong Kong Legends dvd, Stills gallery, 2 trailers, original theatrical trailer, international trailer, Warriors Two poster & booklet, Brand new feature length audio commentary by Asian film expert Frank Djeng (NY Asian Film Festival) and martial artist / actor Robert “Bobby” Samuels [Hong Kong Version] & Brand new feature length audio commentary by action cinema experts Mike Leeder & Arne Venema [Export Version]. Picture & sound Two Versions Of The Film, Both Fully Restored In 2K, Warriors Two: Hong Kong Theatrical Version (95 mins), Warriors Two: International Export Version (90 mins), Original Cantonese mono audio (Hong Kong Version), Optional English dubbed audio (Hong Kong and Export Versions). I rate video & audio, 5 out 5 stars for video & 4 out 5 stars for audio. The Prodigal Son Eureka has replaced the audio of Hong Kong Legend DVD Version, with a fully restored version of the original audio, for those kung fu fans who like original audio & English dub. Not much here too when it comes to extra's with this blu-ray, more or less the same as on the Hong Kong Legends dvd, Stills gallery, 3 trailers, original theatrical trailer, international trailer & US home video trailer by Tai Seng release, The Prodigal Son poster & booklet, Archival interview with Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, and Frankie Chan, Archival interview with Guy Lai, Brand new feature Wing Chun 101 with Sifu Alex Richter & Frank Djeng, Brand new feature length audio commentary by Asian film expert Frank Djeng (NY Asian Film Festival) and martial artist / actor Robert “Bobby” Samuels [Hong Kong Version]] & Brand new feature length audio commentary by action cinema experts Mike Leeder & Arne Venema [Export Version]. Picture & sound Two Versions Of The Film, Both Fully Restored In 2K, Original Cantonese mono audio, Optional English dubbed audio & Optional English Subtitles, newly translated for this release I rate video & audio, 5 out 5 stars for video & 4 out 5 stars for audio. Overall both films I rate Warriors Two 4 and a half out of 5 stars I rate The Prodigal Son 5 out of 5 Sammo Hung's crowning achievement I rate this boxset 4 and a half out of 5 stars Both these films are in my top 10 kung fu films of all time. Pro's Very good video & audio. Posters & booklet. Con's These 2 classic deserve a separate release.
