A solid horror film that is beautifully shot and well written. Great performances from Bill Skarsgärd (who gives the right amount of terror to the Orlok character) and also from Lily Rose Depp who plays Ellen, the young woman who Orlok is obsessed with. Highly recommend if you enjoyed the 1922 original and if you just love horror in general!

A classic film remastered, if you’ve seen the original this version follows it closely and you won’t be surprised, lots of little homages to bram stokers Dracula which I enjoyed, but this count is much darker, no romance he just wants to devour it all. Orlocks voice is an absolute masterpiece in vocal technique, dark and disturbing.. “it is a black omen to travel in poor health” that line still rings through my head. As does the excellent use of Dolby atmos and bass effects, if you have a decent surround set up with height channels you are going to love this, it is reference quality and intensifies the mood, with voices moving eerily around the channels. So far my favourite film this year.
