Silent Running is a very good film - but a poor DVD release. Picture quality is OK, but it would definitely benefit from remastering if only to remove dust and scratches. Other than the trailer, an additional German soundtrack and 7 different subtitle languages - there are no special features which is disappointing. If you've never seen the film before, aren't fussed about extra features and can buy it for less than £5 then consider it, otherwise it would be worth looking at the Blu-ray version which apparently is much better.

This is fantastic and gentle and a real tear jerker!
