A good friend of mine who is an ex soldier recomended I watch this when it was on tv and to be honest I thought im not commiting to watch yet another long running tv show. But this IS TRUELY BRILLIANT and I dont say that lightly. Series like these are what TV was invented for. Whether you like war films or not this is a cinematic experience that should be enjoyed by all. The story follows the events of what happened to Easy company paratroop division in WW2 after the invasion of Europe. The events are factual and each episode follows different characters and their individual war. You soon start to feel the emotion of the troop, that is part of the magic as before too long the even ts start to feel very real. This is tv gold and a must see, at below £16 this is quite simply unmisble. Give Zavvi £16 and run....this is a bargin !

I was told to watch this by a friend of mine who is ex military just before it aired on TV. I didnt as i didnt think I had the time to devote to keeping up with another tv series........... BIG MISTAKE ! I subsequently got lent this box set to see what I had missed and oh my goodness I cant eulogize enough about it. The millions of brilliant reviews about it are all bang on, it has to be one of the greatest tv shows / films ever made. The cherry on the cake is that it's all based on real people and real events the truth makes it so much more enjoyable than fantasy. The cast are brilliant and carry this gripping story fantastically and as the story deveops you not only enjoy the action but you also get to know more about each characters personal story. Complimented by excellent music & spectacular visuals this is UNMISSABLE entertainment of the highest calibre. 10 stars for me which i have now bought it.
