I wasn't expecting much from this family movie -- you know the plot: arrogant 'has-been' gets cut down and has to do time helping kids and has a change of heart. The joy is in the journey and laughs along the way. Martin Lawrence gives an engaging performance and the anti-hero kids are fun without being obnoxious and precocious. The nerds don't become the jocks (as it should be) and they all learn a few life lessons along the way. Crazy supporting cast performances, like the mad Patrick Warburton (Puddy in Seinfeld), add to the humour. Forget the basketball and enjoy the ride. Great for a rainy day afternoon with the kids!
