For any fan of Lost in Translation

Since I don't particularly want to spoil this film for anyone I'll keep this short. Broken Flowers is in every way a spiritual successor to Lost in Translation. The story follows a man (Bill Murray) who is trying to find out who the mother of his recently discovered son is. He travels the country meeting each of his ex's, trying to solve the mystery. The story is technically a comedy, and there are a few laughs to support that classification, but in general it is more of a symbolic story in which each stage of ones life is represented in each "chapter" (not wanting to spoil anything). This results in it being a very sobering experience, with the Bill Murray's characteristic dry wit being the only thing preventing it from becoming too depressing. All in all, a great film but don't expect too much comedy, simply appreciate the film. It's another "love it or hate it" film.
