It's safe to say that this is -easily- Michael Bay's most entertaining and solid film, even though it has its share of silliness not to mention a shallow plot to say the least. Fortunately, that's the important part, because the cast is excellent, the filmography is beautiful, the setpieces are beyond spectacular and the film is edited really tightly; there's not a single moment of boredom to be found. And perhaps the one thing that really makes the film work so well is the soundtrack which is nothing short of legendary (it should tell you something about the orchestral score that several popular metal bands have covered parts of it since). The Blu-ray release is excellent, both video and audio-wise. You won't miss a beat of the action; the visuals are delivered virtually perfectly and the 5.1 PCM soundtrack blows your brain out and makes the score sound even more impressive than in any previous home release. A must-buy.
