Excellent value for money for an amazing amount of discs. Nicely packaged in a box which meant that nothing got dented during delivery. I'm over the moon with my purchase and am delighted that I can now spend hours watching my favourite DVD. Thank you
One of the best film series ever, with a huge amount of thought to the plot, characters and sequence throughout, the extended edition adds more depth to the story as well as a large amount of the humour, well worth the price I think.
The best movie trilogy I've ever seen and the extended parts add a lot to the story.
Twelve discs. Three epic movies. One big beautiful box. That should pretty much cover this review. But to tell you more about it... The package comes in one big box, containing three smaller boxes for each movie, each one sparkling with beauty of its own. Inside there are twelve discs. Each movie's extended version comes on two discs. The other six discs contain hours of behind the scenes bonus material, covering everything from script creation, to sound engineering, to special effects. This epic collection, presents you one of the best stories ever told, in an unforgivable way. Extending the original story, with an addition two more hours of material, keeping the high quality picture, sound, and magic of the original movies. From a legendary book, to an epic big screen moving picture. This collection tells you the story of the little hobbit, named Frodo Baggins, and his quest to destroy the One Ring and the forces of evil. This is a must-buy masterpiece for all Lord of the Rings fans, and for every other person that wants to experience a truly epic adventure.
Peter Jackson. A name on everyones lips since the turn of the century. But where did he come from? Truth is, he came from Australia - a place that could well be a planet away from 'Auld Evropa', and had directed some realy obscure B-Z (!!!) flicks since roughly early 1980's. But why him for the adaptation of J.R. Tolkien's classic novel, split in a trilogy (Holy Trinity?) to the silver screen? My guess, he had a sick twisted black humour. And that is ALWAYS a GOOD thing. Now here is the story and stuff: READ THE BOOKS!!! If you haven't - shame on you... At least take a couple of days off and watch this monumental epic simply because this would not be a riview: it would be a book (various volumes included...)
