While many may wish to set aside 8686 minutes for the sole purpose of watching all 202 episodes, others are more likely to aside 1548 minutes for the sole purpose of watching (what are known as) the 36 truly essential episodes. This complete collection is for those that want to watch all 202 episodes, and enjoy every single minute.

The X Files - Complete DVD Collection is an absolutely epic journey from the season's roots to the breathtaking finale. From learning about "the conspiracy" to seeing how the various plot threads pan out, not one disc out of this massive set will leave you with anything other than awe for the incredible writing and directing that went into making this series. One of the best ever science fiction tv programmes made. And at this price, you'd be foolish not to get it. Just goes to show- the deals are out there....

Quite simply, a piece of television history. Not completely Sci-Fi, Not quite Horror, the X-Files fits into every genre and was so successful, it even had tourists at the FBI's Washington Bureau asking, "Can we see the X-Files?" A must have box set for true X-Philes, the addition of the movie helps to string together seasons 5 and 6 and make this collection the definitive one for all fans. Well worth the price and, at the time of purchase, was cheaper than anywhere else on the 'net :) 10 out of 10 :D

For me, The X-Files was one of the defining genre TV events of the 1990's. For those not in the know, the show follows two FBI agents who investigate strange phenomena. Agent Fox Mulder, played by David Duchovny, is a believer and Agent Dana Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, is a sceptic. With over 200 episodes the quality is pretty high throughout but the last couple of seasons are not up there with the heady highs of seasons 1-3. There are story arcs that carry across the 9 seasons but I prefer the standalone episodes. The episodes themselves vary wildly in tone from extreme horror to laugh out loud comedy. This is a great show, the boxset is fantastic, all those episodes, loads of extra features and the first film (released in 1998). Superb value at this price (currently just under £60). Buy it, you will not be disappointed! (Unless of course sci-fi isn't your thing).
