This is a film that seems to provoke strong reactions, both positive and negative. We liked it. It's not perfect but it is worth seeing. In fact it well repays a second viewing, when you have time to appreciate the sharp editing, stylish photography and mood music. Perhaps the film's greatest flaw is that it challenges you at the start with a long series of apparently unrelated characters, and at least one of these (Stephen, the family friend) could be edited out altogether without affecting the main story line. However, the rest turn out to be linked in one way or another. In the early stages of the plot a young lawyer, Marcus, gets a career boost that seems too good to be true. And so it is, we soon find out, as he realises he's involved in a high-level game of corruption. Should he stay or should he go? His wife, Iona, is too immersed in her own phobias to help him, and neither of them seems able to cope with their hyperactive son Orlando, who above all needs a good hug. I highly recommend you watch this film.
